Job Description

As a Graduate Closures Engineer at Liberty Industrial, you will play an important role in the continued growth of our closure study capabilities, bringing fresh ideas, site exposure, and a passion for working in demolition or construction environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support closure study activities through planning, coordination, and execution under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Assist with business development efforts, engaging with current and prospective clients.
  • Work closely with colleagues to contribute to engineering design initiatives.
  • Build relationships with external engineering consultants while gaining valuable project experience.
  • Uphold Liberty’s commitment to HSEQ standards, contributing to a culture of safety and innovation.
  • Support the preparation and delivery of documentation and presentations across various project stages.
  • Share ideas and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of our closure study offerings.
  • Provide administrative support and help with reporting and other documentation tasks.

Desired Skills and Experience

Qualifications & Experience: 

  • A degree in Civil, Mechanical, Structural, or a related engineering discipline from an Australian university, or a qualification recognised by Engineers Australia.
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience, including exposure to engineering design or closure study projects (internships or academic work included).
  • Some demolition or construction exposure, ideally with site exposure is essential 
  • Familiarity with basic project management principles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to work to deadlines.
  • A proactive attitude and a commitment to learning, with a strong focus on safety.

Nice to Have:

  • Additional site-based experience, particularly in remote locations.
  • Exposure to estimating processes or activities.

The successful candidate must undergo full pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening and Federal Police Check prior to employment.
