Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Project Engineer to join our project delivery team on a major industrial project in Gove, Northern Territory.

This FIFO position on a 2/1 roster offers a unique opportunity to contribute to one of Liberty Industrial’s flagship projects. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the coordination, execution, and delivery of project objectives, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards at all times.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage project schedules, resources, and deliverables to ensure successful and timely completion.

  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to achieve project milestones.

  • Provide technical support, guidance, and leadership to engineering and site teams.

  • Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and quality management systems.

  • Oversee QA/QC documentation, including Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and Manufacturer Data Reports (MDRs).

  • Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, progress reports, and forecasts.

  • Identify and manage potential risks, implementing mitigation strategies as required.

Desired Skills and Experience

Key Requirements

  • Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline.

  • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years in a similar engineering role within the construction, mining, or heavy industrial sectors.

  • Skills and Attributes:

    • Strong project management and coordination capability.

    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

    • High level of attention to detail and analytical ability.

    • Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality.

    • Ability to perform effectively within a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.

  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with project management software and reporting systems.


Essential Requirements

  • Current Australian driver’s licence.

  • Ability to successfully complete pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening.

  • Willingness to work on a FIFO 2/1 roster.

  • Current Australian working rights (citizenship, permanent residency, or valid open visa with 12+ months validity).
