Liberty Industrial is currently seeking experienced Multi Skilled Demolition / Civil Excavator Operators to join our FIFO team supporting Gove (NT) and other major projects across Australia.

Job Description

You will operate excavators across demolition, remediation and civil scopes, including structural demolition, concrete removal and scrap processing. The role requires confidence using specialist attachments in demanding site environments. Liberty Industrial operates a modern fleet of low-hour plant, including excavators from 25T to 230T, and high-reach excavators from 48T to 200T.

About the role

As a Multi Skilled Operator, you will play a key role in delivering demolition, remediation and civil works in a safe and productive manner. You will be required to operate excavators 38T and above, and demonstrate confident control and precision when using specialised attachments.

Daily tasks will include:

  • Operating excavators 38T+ across demolition, remediation and civil scopes

  • Carrying out structural and non-structural demolition works in line with project requirements

  • Concrete demolition activities using rock breakers, crackers and pulverisers

  • Scrap handling and processing, including material sorting and stockpile management

  • Operating attachments such as grabs, shears, pulverisers and hydraulic hammers

  • Loading and movement of demolition material in accordance with site traffic and lift plans

  • Working closely with Supervisors, Spotters and the broader crew to execute safe work methods

  • Completing pre-start checks, equipment inspections and reporting defects immediately

  • Following SWMS, JHAs, permit requirements and Liberty safety systems at all times

  • Maintaining high housekeeping standards and contributing to a positive site culture

  • Supporting general site operations as required to meet program and production targets

Desired Skills and Experience

What we are looking for 

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A high level of safety commitment and the ability to work within strict safety systems

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience operating excavators 38T and above

  • Strong hands-on background in demolition, remediation and/or civil operations

  • Demonstrated experience using excavation attachments such as shears, grabs, pulverisers and hammers

  • A relevant RII qualification for plant and machinery operation

Candidates with the below will be highly regarded:

  • HR licence or above

  • Ability to operate additional machinery such as:

    • Articulated Dump Trucks

    • Water Trucks

    • Service Trucks

    • Wheel Loaders

  • Experience using shears for structural demolition or scrap metal processing

  • Strong capability in concrete demolition environments

  • Oxy-cutting experience

  • High Risk Work Licence tickets (Forklift, EWP, Working at Heights, Rigging, Dogging, Scaffolding, Cranes CN/C2/C6)

  • Physically fit and capable of working in demanding site and weather conditions
