Job Description
HSEQ ADVISOR | FIFO 2:1 | MAJOR INDUSTRIAL PROJECTS | LIBERTY INDUSTRIAL
Not another clipboard-and-coffee safety role.
We are looking for a hands-on HSEQ Advisor who knows what site looks like before sunrise, is comfortable in the field with crews, can build strong relationships with operators, supervisors and clients, and is confident stepping in when safety matters.
At Liberty Industrial, we deliver some of Australia’s most complex demolition, deconstruction, remediation and industrial shutdown projects. Large-scale projects. High-risk environments. Real operational delivery.
This is not a role where you sit back and observe.
You will be embedded with operational teams, helping drive safe outcomes while building strong relationships on site. One minute you might be engaging with crews and supporting investigations, the next assisting with compliance, reporting or working directly with leadership and clients.
If you like variety, ownership and being part of a team that genuinely gets things done, this could be the role for you.
What’s in it for you?
• Fixed-term opportunity with the potential for ongoing work depending on project requirements and performance
• FIFO 2:1 roster
• Point of hire from major East Coast cities
• 10-hour per shift
• Night shift requirements as project needs dictate
• Competitive salary package + project allowance applicable
• Meals, accommodation and travel covered
• Opportunity to work on major industrial and remediation projects across Australia
• Join a team where your contribution genuinely matters
Desired Skills and Experience
What you’ll be doing
• Partnering closely with operational teams to drive practical, fit-for-purpose HSEQ outcomes across complex industrial projects
• Being highly visible in the field, engaging with crews, supervisors and subcontractors to build a strong, proactive safety culture
• Leading safety interactions, field observations, investigations and incident follow-up to ensure lessons are captured and actioned
• Supporting compliance activities including inspections, audits, risk management, permits and project HSEQ requirements
• Building trusted relationships with work crews and clients while positively influencing safe behaviours on site
• Supporting reporting, systems and site documentation with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Contributing to toolbox talks, pre-starts and team engagement to keep safety front of mind across operations
• Working across both day and night shift requirements depending on project demands
What we need from you
• 3–5+ years’ HSE experience within construction, demolition, remediation, industrial services, shutdowns, mining or heavy industry
• Strong field presence with the confidence to engage crews, challenge unsafe behaviours and build credibility on site
• Comfortable balancing boots-on-ground safety with administration, reporting and compliance requirements
• Strong computer and reporting capability with confidence using Microsoft Office and HSEQ systems
• Ability to build relationships quickly and work collaboratively with crews, supervisors, leadership teams and clients
• Comfortable working FIFO on a 2:1 roster and rotating between day and night shift when required
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence, coach and gain buy-in across all levels of the workforce
Highly regarded
• Experience facilitating toolbox talks, pre-starts and engaging work groups
• Exposure to high-risk industrial, remediation, demolition or shutdown environments
• Practical mindset with the ability to provide solutions, not just identify problems
• A calm, resilient and team-focused approach in fast-paced operational environments
Who succeeds at Liberty?
People who are practical and action-oriented. People who build trust quickly, communicate clearly and are respected by crews because they are present, consistent and solutions focused. We value people who roll up their sleeves, work alongside operations and genuinely care about keeping people safe while helping projects succeed.
If you are looking for a role where you can make a genuine impact, work on complex major projects and be part of a team that gets things done, we want to hear from you.
