Position Purpose
The purpose of the Liaison Officer role is to facilitate effective communication, engagement, and collaboration between Liberty Industrial, Traditional Owner Corporations, Aboriginal communities, and other key stakeholders. This role will ensure the successful development and implementation of engagement strategies that build trust, strengthen relationships, and support the delivery of key initiatives, including water return projects. The position also plays a critical role in addressing stakeholder concerns and promoting knowledge sharing to achieve positive project outcomes.

About the Role
As a Liaison Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth communication and collaboration across our projects, teams, clients, and stakeholders. This role requires exceptional interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
You will be instrumental in supporting and engaging with local Aboriginal communities and Traditional Owner Corporations, helping to build strong, respectful, and collaborative relationships. You will also assist in developing and implementing a national stakeholder engagement plan to support our Barrow Project

Key Responsibilities
Support project teams with communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.
Develop and implement a national stakeholder engagement plan, specifically fostering relationships with Aboriginal communities and Traditional Owner Corporations.
Build strong, collaborative relationships to support water return initiatives and ensure effective knowledge sharing.
Coordinate and attend stakeholder meetings, providing follow-up actions as required.
Prepare clear and informative materials to support knowledge sharing and address any community concerns or issues.
Manage key relationships with local authorities, community groups, and external contractors.
Act as the central point of contact for Traditional Owner Corporations, facilitating open and respectful communication.
Ensure compliance with project-specific requirements, policies, and relevant regulations.
Assist with resolving issues and providing proactive solutions for smooth project delivery.
Collaborate closely with the internal project team to ensure alignment and reporting.
About You
To thrive in this role, you will bring:
Proven experience in a Liaison Officer, Stakeholder Engagement, or similar role.
Empathy and a genuine interest in supporting and engaging with local communities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
Experience working with Aboriginal communities, Traditional Owner Corporations, or similar stakeholders (highly regarded).
Experience working on construction, infrastructure, or industrial projects (highly regarded).
Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude.
The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
A solid understanding of safety, compliance, and environmental considerations.
High attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
